Wavelog version 2 anniversary

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

In October 2008 we’ve released a completely redesigned Wavelog, adopted by many of those who seriously take their online contributions and can’t wait to come nearby their computers in order to post rich content to their blogs. With the version 2 of Wavelog we have put to the past the initial child disease of table based blog contents formatting and released support for new Web content management platforms, thus widening importantly the choice of different flavors that mobile bloggers can use when developing their online communities. We’ve remained fans of Nokia Symbian platform for the Wavelog during its second year. The early temptation in porting Wavelog to other platforms we’ve left to others. In the e-mail exchange with Mat from WordPress, to join the forces and develop further Wavelog as a  professional WordPress mobile blogging client for multiple mobile operating systems, he revealed that he’s an iPhone fan and developed his own WordPress client for iPhone. We’ve contacted Google and proposed to develop further for Google’s API (that we already support), but they still prefer e-mailing blog posts… No further comments on that. ;-) Greetings to all other fellow developers who have released commercial or free mobile blogging clients! A small trivia: Do you know how big is Telewaving team? And to all of you who write blog posts on your mobiles while in the bus, train, underground, or on the beach, mountain slopes…. Wavelog touchscreen update…

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Hello Waveloggers around the World!

This post is not about announcing the new version of Wavelog but don’t get disappointed yet. It is to touch base with all those who e-mail us daily with comments and questions on running Wavelog, a mobile blogging application, on other than Nokia N95 phones.

Although Wavelog is officially developed, tested, and certified for Nokia N95, we have put a lot of efforts in making it as much as possible device independent. As you remember, when Nokia announced Symbian S60 R5 with touchscreen User Interface support back in October last year, we have immediately tested the current version of Wavelog and made sure that the next release would be compatible. Well, 6 months after the official release of Nokia 5800 Xpress music phone our latest version of Wavelog is almost fully compatible. Thanks to our users who provide feedback on their mobile blogging experience we can confirm that despite an error message on incompatibility during the installation, there are no showstoppers for Nokia 5800 users in mobile blogging to their WordPress or Google’s Blogger online diaries using Wavelog. The only remaining glitch is the preview function that does not display embedded photos on the phone. As you may see on our showcase blogs, the posted contect looks great, and more importantly the touchscreen user interface rocks!

Pity for iPhone users that Wavelog can not be installed without majour modifications. As the WordPress already has a client available (although not nearly as intuitive as Wavelog) we don’t feel like porting our application to that platform for the time being.

You may wonder why we don’t work on supporting all phones like other developers do. Just because we are working on something totally different right now, so check frequently our website for news…

Happy mobile blogging!

And, Don’t just surf - MAKE WAVES!
