Inserting links in your post with Wavelog

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Here is a tip for Wavelog users we’d like to share. Few people complained that it is a pity Wavelog does not allow inserting Web hyper-links into the text of your post. The limitation is partially due to the fact that standard Nokia text editor was used for posting text (the same is used when creating SMS/MMS messages).

However, you may post HTML code in your text. While you are editing your post (or you may reopen for edit already drafted and saved post), swap to your Internet browser and copy the link to the clipboard. You may do this by pressing and keeping the menu key (that’s the one that looks like atoms) and than selecting the Web browser. Then you can select and highlight the Web address that you want to link to in your post, from the web page or the bookmarks. (How to select and copy? To copy and paste text, while pressing and holding the edit key (the one with the pencil on it), press left or right joystick to highlight text. To copy the text to clipboard, while still holding the edit key, select Copy. To insert
the text into a document, press and hold the edit key, and select Paste.)

Now you only need to enter the HTML code for linking. You don’t know this? Here it is <a href=”paste your link here”>leave the text that you want to be linked</a>

Simple isn’t it?

We will automate this in the next version, but in the meantime HAPPY MOBILE BLOGGING!

BTW, you could save all the HTML tags that you use frequently in the Nokia Note taker file. Then you only need to copy and paste the appropriate code and Web address (URL).
